Software Test Engineering Lead

The Software Test Engineering Lead will be responsible for developing and improving the perceived and measurable quality of BombBomb’s software products through automated testing. This role will establish and regularly measure key performance metrics against agreed upon goals. Further this role will aid software teams in implementing and growing their test automation frameworks. Critically this role will also lead the development of software testing skills amongst development and test teams at large.


  • Write automated unit, integration and selenium tests across multiple languages and technologies (JS, NodeJS, PHP, etc) to improve the overall stability of software products
  • Ensure automated testing suites are in place in the automated build for all software products and establish metrics for measuring success within 6 months.
  • Establish business-wide LOC and code-coverage metrics within 30 days.
  • Establish a production-incidents-per-story metric within the first sixty days, and establish an agreed-upon improvement goal to be met 90 days hence.
  • Establish a % defects fixed metric within the first sixty days, and establish an agreed-upon improvement goal to be met 60 days hence.
  • Actively participate in the testing of software as it's produced in the first week, familiarizing themselves with the teams and their products.
  • Aid development teams in lowering the number of software-defect related support tickets by 8% within 6 months of employment.
  • Actively grow the development teams’ and testing teams’ quality assurance skills through personal mentoring and group training.
